I've installed my new speakers, but my door panel won't go back on properly
Often times after installing new speakers and attempting to reinstall your door panels, clips and various other fasteners become misaligned, preventing a smooth re-installation process.
The first thing you'll want to check is to make sure that all of the clips around the outer door perimeter are properly in place. On several models (refer to your vehicle specific instructions), there is also a clip or two located midway up the door panel. These clips are a major cause of door panel re-installation difficulty, so check to make sure the clips aren't stuck on the door itself.
In E46 models, it is sometimes necessary to remove the rubber boot from around the magnet of the larger speaker in the lower door panel to allow for a better fitment of the front speakers. The sedan can be very tricky and always requires the boot to be removed, as the door panel must be lifted upward while being simultaneously pushed inward.
Sometimes, the clips around the outer door panel are already broken from other processes being performed on the car. If this is the case, your local dealer keeps plenty of these in stock and you can expect to pay $0.25 per fastener.
