How to reset your DICE iPod / iPhone Integration Kit

If your DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW / Mini Cooper is not functioning properly, in most cases simply resetting the device will allow it to begin functioning normally again.  Here's what to do:
  1. Turn off your vehicle and remove key.
  2. Locate either the DICE module (small black box around the size of a pack of playing cards) or the 3 pin connector located in your trunk.  Disconnect the large, 10-pin connector from the DICE module OR the 3-pin connector in the trunk, and leave disconnected for 30 minutes.
  3. If attached, disconnect your iPod / iPhone from the dock connector or 2point5 spec.dock (if installed).
  4. Reconnect 10-pin or 3-pin connector after waiting 30 minutes.
  5. Turn on vehicle and select the DICE iPod integration kit by selecting CD changer mode (press CD or MODE on your radio until CD 1-01 [Mini, 3 Series, Z3, and Z4 vehicles] or TR 01 and CD 1* [5 Series, 7 Series, X5] displays.
  6. Reconnect your iPod or iPhone.
  7. Turn on text display. (See related articles)
