I've reset my Dice kit, but I'm still experiencing issues. It's time for a hard reset of the vehicle's bus system.
If you've reset your Dice kit and you're still experiencing issues, we need to give the vehicle a "hard reset". This is essentially like re-booting your PC, as we're attempting to clear any electronic glitches that may be being stored in the memory of the vehicle's bus system.
To do this, perform the following steps:
- We do want the Dice connected while performing this hard reset. However, make sure your iPod/iPhone is disconnected.
- Disconnect both the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of your battery. Remove the terminals completely off of the battery.
- Being 100% certain that the battery is no longer connected to the terminals, touch the terminals together. You may see a spark, which is normal operation.
- Allow at minimum 1 hour before reinstalling the terminals, connecting the positive terminal first, then the negative.
- Now, head up to the front of the car and turn on the ignition. Wait at least one minute before attempting to access the iPod/iPhone.
- During this minute, go ahead and set the iPod/iPhone to a song, so that music is playing. Connect the iPod/iPhone to your spec.dock or cable at this point.
- Access your iPod/iPhone. Wait at least 1 minute before attempting any controls via the unit itself or the steering wheel or radio.
At this point you should be good to go. You will likely notice that all of your radio stations are no longer memorized, and that any other controls you had previously adjusted (mirrors, seats, etc) are also forgotten. Simply reset them and you'll be on your way to enjoying your system.
